Travel into the UK and other EU countries has no been made easier with a Pet Passport, meaning your pet doesn’t have to go through quarantine travelling between countries. Travelling to a Non-EU country may have different requirements, so double check before you go or visit the link at the bottom of the page.
Pet Passports are issued by ourselves and to take your pet out of the country or and bring them back in as well as their up to date passport they need a microchip, up to date annual vaccinations, an up to date rabies vaccination and treatment against tapeworm (dogs only).
Our vets have to take an extra qualification to issue a passport so when you are calling the practice please state what you are booking for. You cannot enter or exit the country until after 21 days of the rabies vaccination being given so we advise to get the passport done at least a month in advance. This also gives us time to issue the passport.
If the UK leaves the EU travelling rules will change. As of yet if you are travelling out of the UK after the 29th March of 2019 there are some extra requirements. Please follow this link for more information https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pet-travel-to-europe-after-brexit. If you think this will affect you please call the practice for more information.
Contact the practice for any other information or further information can be found on the GOV website: https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad
