Our partnership with Vets Now

We are partnered with Vets Now, a dedicated pet emergency service which provides expert emergency care when we are closed. Vets Now are the equivalent of an accident and emergency service and the leading provider of emergency pet care in the UK.

Their vets and nurses are specially trained in emergency and critical care and work out of hours, through the night and at weekends. This means they are ready and waiting to see you and your pet. They don’t work during the day so you don’t have to worry about disturbing them at night.

Our closest Vets Now locations are Sheffield, Doncaster and Chesterfield. Find a full list of vets now clinics here
.
During our opening hours we will continue to be here to provide your pet with the highest standard of veterinary care.

We are also still available for emergencies during peak times as we cover out of hours weekday evenings and Sundays which are known to be times you are most likely to need us.

This partnership has meant that we can continue to provide the best veterinary care during the day when you need us most.

There will be an increased availability for appointments, reduced waiting times for medical or surgical procedures and life-saving diagnostic tests. We will also be able to offer more continuity of care, with improved availability to see the same vet throughout a period of treatment.

FAQ’s

If my pet is seen by Vets Now as an emergency in the middle of the night what happens when they close in the morning?

If your pet isn’t well enough to be discharged, Vets Now will contact us to let us know you and your pet will be coming back into our care. As the pet owner you will need to collect your pet from Vets Now and bring them to us. We will then admit them to our ward for 24 hour care until they are feeling better.

What happens if my pet is admitted to your ward during opening hours or when you are seeing emergencies on weekday evenings and Sundays?

If you pet becomes an inpatient during these times, they will stay here. There would be no involvement with Vets Now.
